Spring

Last week I saw the first bumblebees for this year. Herring are spawning (we caught some from shore yesterday at HPR). Salmonberries with good sun exposure are blooming. The blueberries have been blooming for some time. Wild cucumber (twisted stalk) is coming up. Varied thrushes have been actively singing for the last week or two.

Migrating Geese

As we were walking on Saturday, we saw a fairly large flock of geese fly overhead. Later that night I heard more. Sunday evening we saw three geese feeding on a lawn near McDonalds. It was too dark to tell for sure, but I think they were Canadian geese.
