This is the first Sanderling (Calidris alba) I have seen. They are apparently rare along the road system.
I took an early morning walk down to the park.
Weather: Another somewhat blustery overcast day.
Birds: Shorebirds are starting to show up more at the park. On an early morning walk I saw Black Turnstones, Dunlin, Western Sandpipers, I think a Least Sandpipers, and (a new one for me) a Sanderling.
