This morning I stopped by Swan Lake, Marge and Tedin’s feeders, and Eliason Harbor to see what birds might be about.
Though they had their heads tucked, both of these ducks were keeping an eye on me. Observed 16 January 2007 at Swan Lake.

The Long-tailed Duck caught a spot prawn (Pandalus platyceros) to eat. Observed 16 January 2007.
I am not entirely certain about this identification. The bird seemed less bulky than many Common Loons. Perhaps it's a first year bird? Observed 16 January 2007 at Eliason Harbor.
