Spring

Last week I saw the first bumblebees for this year. Herring are spawning (we caught some from shore yesterday at HPR). Salmonberries with good sun exposure are blooming. The blueberries have been blooming for some time. Wild cucumber (twisted stalk) is coming up. Varied thrushes have been actively singing for the last week or two.

They apparently did not reach the quota of herring in the opening yesterday, so they opened the fishery up for another hour this afternoon.
