The August 10th show featured a conversation with marine biologist Greg Jensen. This conversation was originally aired in May 2024 when he was in Sitka as part of the Scientists in the Schools program through the Sitka Sound Science Center. Among the activities he participated in, was sea week at the elementary school (which has been going since at least the time I was in elementary school 40+ years ago). This lead to conversation about getting out to the beaches as children, how this ignited his passion for observing and documenting marine life, and some of what he’s learned over several decades spent exploring the waters of Puget Sound and beyond.
