Mid-December Birds

Overcast with some rain during the day. Much more rain later in the evening.

Although somewhat brighter than yesterday, it was still a dim day.

During time I had this afternoon I made a circuit to check feeding stations and other birdy areas.

I saw the expected sparrows at the kelp patch pullout and Moller Park. I also saw a Golden-crowned Sparrow and Lincoln’s Sparrow at each location.

The Sandhill Crane was down on the track.

The Brambling was down on the ground near Sealing Cove. On previous recent sightings I had always seen it up high.

The pre-count meeting is tomorrow evening, so I’ve been working on making updates to my slide show. Count week starts on Thursday.

The forecast for Sunday is currently calling for a high of 20F. It’s supposed to be even colder the next couple of days.
