Evening Visit to Swan Lake

Mostly cloudy this morning trending towards heavier overcast by afternoon when a little bit of rain fell.

I woke up feeling unambitious and didn’t make it out before I had a call. The afternoon was spent visiting or waiting to meet with my tax preparer, so it was only this evening that I made it out for a bit.

I walked down to Swan Lake, and along the way thought I heard a Red-winged Blackbird. One had been reported in my neighborhood earlier in the day, so I wasn’t too surprised.

The flock of Greater White-fronted Geese and one Cackling Goose were still at the peninsula. I did hear more closely and ultimately got a look at the blackbird.

Wind was blowing a bit out of the southeast while I was at the lake.

It’s been slow so far for moths at my house. I did get pictures of an interesting look fly that was attracted to the uv light (presumably). Flies are usually gone by morning, so it helps to check in the evening for them (though I don’t take pictures of all the different ones I see).
