Litiulus alaskanus

Tuesdays are my busy day, and today was the last day of regular classes for the semester, so I didn’t spend much time outside. I have noticed in recent trips to UAS there are still quite a few gulls in the channel, but I’ve noticed they’re mostly immature birds (and so much more difficult for me to identify).

On the radar this morning there was a band of very heavy rain, but it seemed to be hanging off-shore. Eventually rain started falling over town, but I don’t think it was ever as heavy as the rain I saw on the radar this morning.

I took pictures of a millipede (Litiulus alaskanus) that I had picked up on Crow Island last Saturday. This one seemed to have spots on the side, which I don’t remember noticing before (and now I’ll have to check the millipedes around town).
