Muskeg Ant Flight

I went up Indian River with Connor and Rowan to take care of ibuttons.

In the muskeg there was a large swarm of flying insects. We had brought a bug net, so Connor was able to capture some and we learned they were winged ants. I guess today was flight day for the Myrmica ants that are common in muskegs.

We spotted a Pacific-slope Flycatcher feeding a young bird while working the edge of the woods near the lower end of the muskeg on our way out.
