A cooperative male Green-winged Teal and a unusual (and late) Red-winged Blackbird were the highlights at Swan Lake today.

It was the first day of the Great Backyard Bird Count, so I tried to get out a fair bit to look for birds, including a stop at Swan Lake and a walk around Totem Park.
The lake was mostly frozen, so quite a few birds were close to the penninsula in one of the patches of open water. I took advantage of their limited room to roam and got some photos.
