Low Tide at Sage Beach and John Brown’s Beach

We spent some time down at Sage Beach this morning where Connor gathered some seaweed for the garden and Rowan looked for an (apparently) unusual type of seaweed she found on Monday. Connor got 5 buckets of seaweed, but no luck on the unusual seaweed. The herring had spawned a bit along the beach and down toward the park, but it was not a very heavy spawn.

At John Brown’s beach there was no evidence that herring had visited there to spawn. Rowan did find some interesting intertidal creatures while I spent the time mostly wandering around looking at the rocks.

Weather-wise it was overcast and a bit chilly. Some light rain fell off and on during the day, but it wasn’t too soaking.
