18 December Photos: Snowy Swan lake
Sitka received several inches of snow this week. Swan Lake still had ice on the surface, but it was too thin for walking, so the snow remained unmarked by human tracks.
The snow fell before the lake had a chance to thaw completely after the last freeze, but the ice was too thin for walking on, so the surface of the snow on the lake remained untrammeled.
There are houses all along the shore of Swan Lake, but most are hidden by the trees.
