13 January Photos: Starrigavan and Feeder Birds
A trip out to Starrigavan to see the swans (with an unexpected sighting of a Dunlin) was followed by a stop by Marge and Tedin’s to look for Hoary Redpolls.
Common Redpolls are not typically seen around Sitka, though, as an irruptive species, when they do show up, it can be in high numbers. That was the case this winter. One of may seen 13 January 2007 at feeders.

Pine Siskins apparently love thistle seed. Observed 13 January 2007.
