Weather Observations

Filed under: weather — matt goff @ 4:47 pm

After a few days of sunny moderate weather in the 40’s, it has gotten cloudy, cooled off a bit and is now rainy. Today was one of only a handful this winter where snow could be seen on the trees along the whole of Gavan Ridge. It appears the snow level is below 2000 feet, but not by too much. Last weekend the Mountaineering class climbed Verstovia hoping for enough snow for snow school. I guess they found one patch that was just barely big enough with an adequate depth of snow. Hopefully I will get up Verstovia or Gavan in the next couple of weeks and see for myself how much snow there is(n’t).
