Recording
Recorded 21 May 06 on Mt. Verstovia Trail. This bird appeared to be foraging in the canopy at about 1200 feet elevation. I am not absolutely positive the bird in the photo is the same one in the recording, but I'm pretty sure. If I had to guess, I would say it's probably a Chestnut-backed Chickadee, but it sounded different than I am used to hearing. It repeated the pattern heard in the recording more or less continuously for some time as it moved around the canopy.
