A scarce winter visitant and migrant. The only sight records assigned to this species are a few on 8 of the 28 Christmas count reports; one which I saw in Sitka Bay 17 April 1940; a male which Hanson and I saw almost daily 26 August-9 September 1986; a male which Gibson saw 30 April 1982.
