Rare migrant and winter visitant. David Van Horn (Gibson 1979) saw five 23 through 29 October 1978. Isleib (Gibson 1980) and others saw several pairs in February 1980. Hanson saw and photographed one 12 May 1986 and saw another in the spring of 1988. Recorded on four of the 28 Christmas counts.
