Rare fall migrant and winter straggler; A. and C. Johnstone saw 7 at Sitka 5 to 10 November 1974 (Gibson 1976). Hanson saw a few each fall in the 1980’s. Kessel and Gibson (MS) state that Johnson saw two at Starrigavan Creek 29 September 1976 and shot one at Dry Pass, Kruzof Island, in October of that year. Recorded on three of the 28 Christmas counts.
