Chocolate Tube Slime
Stemonitis spp
Summary: Stemonitis species are one of the more commonly observed slime molds, often found on rotting wood, especially the cut ends of logs. The species are difficult to distinguish, and require looking at microscopic features to do so. It is unclear how many different species in this genus can be found in the Sitka area.
