Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Known previously only from Juneau (Evans, 1900). Probably throughout.
Habitat: Decaying wood in forests, in ravines and gorges, on peaty ground in boggy areas, but absent from true bogs.
Comments: Often with sporophytes. In western North America the northern limit of distribution is Juneau.
