Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout, common at all elevations.
Habitat: On a great variety of substrates: Twigs, deadfalls, mineral soils, streamsides, gorge walls, cliffs, among Sphagnum, on peaty banks in bogs, among heathers over rocks in the subalpine, and in crannies in the alpine.
Comments: Frequently with sporophytes. A strikingly oceanic species that is common on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans in the Northern Hemisphere.
